After graduating high school in San Jose, California, Wilkins followed in the footsteps of her 11 uncles, aunt and several cousins by enlisting in the military. As a reservist, she proudly wore the Air Force uniform and found herself stationed in San Antonio, TX, Biloxi, MS, Aurora, CO, and Portsmouth, NH. Thanks to the military, her early travels took her to places she never imagined visiting, thus the experience opened her eyes to a future with broader possibilities.

With a career spanning politics, law school and finally patent development, Wilkins has always had a passion for debate. She created Free Spirit Rider as a forum for research and discussion on various topics such as politics, social issues, economics and current laws.
